چکیده
Leaf scald caused by Xanthomonas albilineans (Xa) is a major bacterial disease in sugarcane that represents threat to the global sugar industry. Little known about population structure and genetic evolution of this pathogen. In study, 39 Xa strains were collected from 6 provinces China. Of these strains, 15 24 isolated Saccharum spp. hybrid S. officinarum plants, respectively. Based on multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA), with five housekeeping genes, clustered into two distinct phylogenetic groups (I II). Group I included 26 2 host provinces, while II consisted 13 plants Zhejiang province. Among nucleotide identities 5 genes were: ABC (99.6–100%), gyrB (99.3–100%), rpoD (98.4–100%), atpD (97.0–100%), glnA (97.6–100%). These six (A–F), based rep-PCR fingerprinting, using primers for ERIC2, BOX A1R, (GTG)5. UPGMA PCoA analyses revealed group A had most (24), followed C 11 there was 1 strain each B D–F. Neutral tests showed trend toward expansion. Selection pressure purification selection concatenated all tested strains. Significant differentiation infrequent gene flow found between populations hosted hybrids officinarum. Altogether, results provide evidence obvious divergence structures among

Genetic diversity and relationships in native Hawaiian Saccharum officinarum sugarcane.
Commercial sugarcane hybrid cultivars currently in production are high-yielding, disease-resistant, millable canes and are the result of years of breeding work. In Hawaii, these commercial hybrids are quite distinct from many Saccharum officinarum canes still in existence that were brought to the islands and cultivated by the native Polynesians. The actual genetic relationships among the native...

Saccharum officinarum L. sugarcane, is a large, strong-growing species of grass in the genus Saccharum. It originated in Southeast Asia and is now cultivated in tropical and subtropical countries worldwide for the production of sugar and other products. S. Officinarum, a perennial plant, grows in clumps consisting of a number of strong unbranched stems..The aim of this study is to overview its ...
متن کاملCloning, expression and characterization of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) transketolase.
Pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) composed of two functionally-connected phases, the oxidative and non-oxidative phase. Both phases catalysed by a series of enzymes. Transketolase is one of key enzymes of non-oxidative phase in which transfer two carbon units from fructose-6-phosphate to erythrose-4-phosphate and convert glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate to xylulose-5-phosphate. In plant, erythrose-4-ph...

Experiments were carried out in order to micropropagate sugarcane cultivars through shoot tip and auxilliary bud culture. Rinsing of four cultivars of sugarcane, namely CP-48-103, CP-57-614, CP-69-1062, and NCO-310 in 75% alcohol for 60 seconds and their subsequent disinfection with sodium and calcium hypochloride (1.5% active material) for 15 minutes decreased a significant amount of infection...
متن کاملAnalysis of Three Sugarcane Homo/Homeologous Regions Suggests Independent Polyploidization Events of Saccharum officinarum and Saccharum spontaneum
Whole genome duplication has played an important role in plant evolution and diversification. Sugarcane is an important crop with a complex hybrid polyploid genome, for which the process of adaptation to polyploidy is still poorly understood. In order to improve our knowledge about sugarcane genome evolution and the homo/homeologous gene expression balance, we sequenced and analyzed 27 BACs (Ba...
